Helpful Tool: Google Maps
Category:
Web and Application
It was around 12 p.m. when I receive a call asking me to go for a job interview later in the afternoon at 2. The very first thing I do right after I answered the call was to search for the exact location using Google Maps. Google Maps has the ability to calculate the distance between two given addresses (origin and destination) as well as the time required to travel between these two places.
Google Maps is available in three major modes: Map (show street map), Satellite (show satellite imagery) and Terrain (show street map with terrain). You can always zoom in or zoom out the map for better viewing, or even move it around (left, right, up, and down) to check the neighborhood geographical area.
In order to embed Google Maps in your own web pages, you'll need to Sign Up for the Google Maps API then only you're allowed to develop a map application following the instructions given. One of my friends, Kay Bin who has previously installed Google Map Mobile into his K750i is now having fun with this cool feature. Wondering why? Because there wasn't any detailed satellite image or traffic for country like Malaysia.
