We had a reunion cum farewell dinner with a long-lost friend last Monday. Finally! I mean, after trying to accommodate each other's schedule for months. It's always been, mainly because of me as I was a "devoted" shift worker (very much devoted to money =p) who worked 6 days a week. My bad, I feel terribly sorry, and sad that we are parting to fulfill our own destinies.
As we grow older, our memories fade inevitably... I wish to keep them here, just between you and me... My beautiful diary...

Farewell Lunch at the Meringandan Pub

Chan kinda planned a farewell gathering for me and few other workmates last week. Well, it was a last minute thingy and I carried on to invite more people, pretty much most of the people I worked with on my last day to join us.
I've made a booking for a table of 20 at the Meringandan Pub. On Sunday, I managed to find my way there (thanks to the GPS on my iPhone). More than half of them actually turned up, which is good enough. Thanks to those who came. Thank you guys so, so much for your time and effort! *joyful tears*

Farewell Dinner at Ni Hao Chinese Restaurant

My last two weeks in Queensland have been insanely hectic and fun. A lot of catching-up to do besides exploring more of the Sunshine State before we move. YES, WE'RE MOVING DOWN TO SYDNEY!!! How exciting! Yet sad at the same time, as I'll be leaving my job and friends here *sniff sniff*
Yesterday, after a plentiful lunch at the Meringandan Pub with a bunch of workmates (former workmates I mean), I attended another farewell gathering at the Ni Hao Chinese Restaurant for dinner. Smaller in size, but definitely crazier and more intimate than the one in the afternoon.

All You Can Eat Buffet Lunch at Pizza Hut Toowoomba

Not long after the reopening of Pizza Hut Restaurant on the corner of Ruthven and Stenner streets (opposite K-Mart), we joined the crowd to have all-you-can-eat buffet lunch along with Tan's family. We arrived around noon and had our cars parked across the street. Parking could be a real issue here especially during lunch and dinner hours.

First Golf Experience and Dinner Afterwards

On a fine sunny afternoon, we joined Yen and his little two sons to play golf at the Fairway Golf Driving Range. It was our first golf experience, a bit exciting but not exactly pleasant. We've got ourselves a jumbo bucket with 200 golf balls and that's still a lot after splitting them to everyone of us.

Dinner at the Gladstone Hotel

I looked remarkably refreshed that day after a long night's sleep. Slept in until *gasp* 11 in the morning. I earned it, I earned it well. Hahahaa! I spent my off day not doing much in the afternoon, no shopping no nothing, just routine housekeeping.
About tea time, I saw this status posted by Gladstone Hotel on the Facebook saying, "Public Holiday Surcharge? Ain't nobody got time for that!!!" *LOL* I somehow managed to convince Mr. Choo and myself to give it a go even though we've always had the impression that it's a very crowded pub with loud music and drunkards at night.
We walked into the restaurant without booking and the atmosphere was completely the other way around. Surprise, surprise! There were no more than 5 people drinking in the bar (perhaps it was still early) with soft music playing on the background. Ideally seemed like a great place to enjoy a dinner date together before heading to watch G.I. Joe: Retaliation (3D) in the cinema.

Fitzy's On Church: Easter Saturday

It's the Easter Saturday today, which is also the second last day of March 2013. I went out with Mr. Choo wearing this zip through panelled scuba dress I got from Forever New. Our plan was to have a dinner date somewhere in town, but the problem is, which restaurant do we go to? Irish Club Hotel, the one I thought of trying out has been fully booked out. Thus, we settled for some fine dining at Fitzy's instead.

Chap Goh Meh aka "元宵节" is a festival celebrated on the 15th, which is also the last day of Chinese New Year. We fixed up a dinner date with the Tan's family, two eat-outs in one day, amazing! Location was picked by Kevin, at the Sofra Turkish Restaurant in town, then followed by an ice-cream indulgence at the Gelatissimo I longed for. Belgian Chocolate - the best!!!

Brunch at Metro Cafe + USQ Phoenix Carnial

I had an event to attend at the uni today, the USQ Phoenix Carnival, happening from midday to late evening. But I was only there for an hour or so since the weather was pretty gloomy with passing showers. I left the house in the worst outfit ever for a windy, rainy day - a flare dress *facepalm* My hands were too busy keeping my dress down and my hair nice that I didn't have time to shoot much photos =3
After the event, I went to pick Mr. Choo up for brunch. Usually, he's the one behind the wheels but this afternoon, I be his personal driver, drove him around the city instead. We came to Metro Cafe (recommended by a blogger friend, Emily, and our besties, Kevin and Veny), located next to Bikeline, opposite the Toowoomba Railway Station.

Valentine's month is here, can you feel the love in the air? I felt very much loved today, blessed with good food and all after work on a Saturday evening. We walked into the restaurant, welcomed by this cute baby-faced waiter who served us the last time we came. His face, his smile resemble the Hollywood actor, Elijah Wood a lot but way younger? Haha xD

Cafe Valetta: Brunch Under The Sun

It's like our little tradition to dine out or shall I re-phase it as a "meal date" on sunny Sunday. I realize we haven't really done it in a while, since October last year maybe. My heart, my body were screaming badly for a relaxing meal somewhere in town, so I went to do some digging last night. And the digging points us to this Cafe Valetta, located just a few steps away from the Park House Cafe.

As mentioned, our friend, William came to visit us last weekend. He stayed for 3 days. And throughout that very 3 days, we've made plans for him, from food and drinks to exploring and touring the Garden City - Toowoomba.
I had to work on Friday and Saturday, hence, could only managed to carve out most of my Sunday, which was also his last day here for a mini day tour.

Phat Burgers aka Phatburgers

I was asked by one of my blog readers some time ago to do a review on Phat Burgers, a popular gourmet burger shop here in Toowoomba. At first, I did not keep it in mind (as I'm really not a burger person) until last week or two, a friend brought this up and we decided to give it a go. I knocked off from work around dinner time yesterday, drove home to get dressed and picked Mr. Choo up before paying the burger place a visit.

It's hard to believe that we came to the Coffee Club twice in a row within just this week! First was to catch-up with a good buddy, second was for last night's dinner. Tired. I tried hard to rest myself but my tiredness doesn't seem to want to go away these days *sighs helplessly* I guess, after all, there's really no escape from getting older and being reminded of it, is there? =\

Breakfast-Turned-Brunch at Shingle Inn

My early breakfast plan failed miserably. Was supposed to get my lazy ass up but my sleepiness seemed to overpower me this morning. Imaging a peaceful and chilly Sunday morning with less traffic and no buses stopping by every one hour and so, simply the most perfect time of the week to snuggle in the bed just a little bit longer.

Another long and hectic work week has gone by so slowly. It's Sunday again, people! I woke up with an exceptionally good appetite, perfect weather, perfect mood, perfect morning... Oh well, shall I say almost perfect? 'Cause someone actually forgot to do what I told him to. We ended up not having a memory card in the DSLR camera that we carried along, and under such circumstance, my iPhone's camera couldn't be any more convenient than it is today.

Monday Blues and Exy Dinner at the Cube Hotel

The Monday blues seem to strike me down pretty hard today. I was struggling and having these mixed feelings in my heart and mind (not gonna elaborate much about it here, sorry). "Like the marathon, life can sometimes be difficult, challenging and present obstacles, however if you believe in your dreams and never ever give up, things will turn out for the best." So, here's a little reminder to myself – DON'T SETTLE, CHRISTINA! You know you'll make it, someday...
Last Saturday, we dined out with our good buddy at the Cube Hotel downtown after coming back from the Sideshow Alley. Mr. Choo opted for Fitzy's at first, but unfortunately the restaurant has already been booked out, not surprise, since it's the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers that brought in a massive huge crowd and traffic to the Garden City.
Everything was fine (in spite of the still-bearable loud music in the background and the overly priced menu) until I carried on with my main which close enough to killing my taste buds.

Sushi and Movie Date Night

I came home feeling unwell after work yesterday. Constant sneezing, runny nose, and mild fever all attacked me at once, which nevertheless can be considered as good timing since I'm having a day off today. I spent the whole morning and afternoon sleeping and resting myself until around dinner time, Mr. Choo took me out for sushi (apparently I was sick of having porridge) then followed by a movie date watching Resident Evil: Retribution in 3D.

Park House Cafe Restaurant Toowoomba

I had a rough morning yesterday, food poisoning, again!!! I felt nauseous not long after I started working, abdominal cramping, then diarrhea... I hated it every time it happened ='( Fortunately it wasn't that critical until I have to be rushed to the hospital or something (thank goodness!!!), so I just stayed back and finished whatever I was supposed to do that day.
Around afternoon, I took a cat nap with world war 3 going on in my stomach still, woke up feeling way much better afterwards and decided to join this dinner outing with our friend at the Park House Cafe.
As we walked into the restaurant, our noses picked up a very strong fertilizer (or was it body sweats) smell. Most of the "ideal spots" were either taken or reserved by others, we sat down to a corner table, waited a while before Frank actually showed up with a bouquet of flowers.

Sofra Turkish Cuisine in Toowoomba

If there were any new restaurants in town other than Indian and Thai cuisines, I would be more than keen and happy to try out. You know, finally, we got Turkish!!! I've heard both good and bad feedback from friends, but I'm not judging, not until I really experience the food, service, and restaurant myself.
