I had an event to attend at the uni today, the USQ Phoenix Carnival, happening from midday to late evening. But I was only there for an hour or so since the weather was pretty gloomy with passing showers. I left the house in the worst outfit ever for a windy, rainy day - a flare dress *facepalm* My hands were too busy keeping my dress down and my hair nice that I didn't have time to shoot much photos =3
After the event, I went to pick Mr. Choo up for brunch. Usually, he's the one behind the wheels but this afternoon, I be his personal driver, drove him around the city instead. We came to Metro Cafe (recommended by a blogger friend, Emily, and our besties, Kevin and Veny), located next to Bikeline, opposite the Toowoomba Railway Station.

Just tap water will do us, thanks!
Its lunch menu. Salads, burgers, sandwiches, very limited choices (a bit disappointing to be honest). There are also specials on the board which change from day to day.
Yes, we're ready to order please =)
Nemo Sandwich for me. Not the clown fish, you silly! =p
Smoked salmon, avocado, red onion, mesculin and caper cream cheese served in a generous portion - $13.50. Slightly under-flavored for my taste but still lovely.
Toasted with layers of colorful ingredients.
Side of beer-battered chips to share - $3.50.
Kangaroo Burger for him.
Very well marinated kangaroo (one of the healthiest and most hygienic meats in fact), peppered red currant jam, roasted pumpkin, spinach and aioli - $17. Better meat texture than beef as Mr. Choo described. Forgive me for not daring enough to try =x
On the whole, the cafe offers clean and relaxing atmosphere, reasonably priced good food with warm and friendly service. We'd like to try their breakfast menu next time, hope it won't let us down again.
Meanwhile at the USQ Phoenix Carnival.
These adorable Japanese ladies here hand-folded all those colorful origami cranes.
Posing with their signature hand gesture ^^v
The Korean group. Sorry for cutting out your head, Jeff =p
Random shot of a beautiful little girl. She'll grow up to be a big beauty one day.
