Meringandan Pub: Farewell with Besties

Meringandan Pub: Farewell Lunch with Besties
It feels like months since I left Toowoomba, even though it's been barely more than a week until now. I really miss my friends and everything back in Queensland. In fact, I missed living and working in a small town very much. Not the job but the friendliest people I worked with. Haha! Can't blame me as I'm already so used to the lifestyle there =p

On the weekend after I had farewell gatherings with my workmates, we dragged our feet to Meringandan Pub once again for another farewell lunch. It's a popular country pub located in the middle of nowhere. Well, not nowhere but 19 kilometres somewhere out Highfields.

Fiveways Hotel: Farewell Dinner with Smorgasboard

Dinner at Fiveways Hotel Toowoomba
We had a reunion cum farewell dinner with a long-lost friend last Monday. Finally! I mean, after trying to accommodate each other's schedule for months. It's always been, mainly because of me as I was a "devoted" shift worker (very much devoted to money =p) who worked 6 days a week. My bad, I feel terribly sorry, and sad that we are parting to fulfill our own destinies.

Farewell Lunch at the Meringandan Pub

Farewell Lunch at Meringandan Pub
Chan kinda planned a farewell gathering for me and few other workmates last week. Well, it was a last minute thingy and I carried on to invite more people, pretty much most of the people I worked with on my last day to join us.

I've made a booking for a table of 20 at the Meringandan Pub. On Sunday, I managed to find my way there (thanks to the GPS on my iPhone). More than half of them actually turned up, which is good enough. Thanks to those who came. Thank you guys so, so much for your time and effort! *joyful tears*

Farewell Dinner at Ni Hao Chinese Restaurant

Farewell Dinner at Ni Hao Chinese Restaurant
My last two weeks in Queensland have been insanely hectic and fun. A lot of catching-up to do besides exploring more of the Sunshine State before we move. YES, WE'RE MOVING DOWN TO SYDNEY!!! How exciting! Yet sad at the same time, as I'll be leaving my job and friends here *sniff sniff*

Yesterday, after a plentiful lunch at the Meringandan Pub with a bunch of workmates (former workmates I mean), I attended another farewell gathering at the Ni Hao Chinese Restaurant for dinner. Smaller in size, but definitely crazier and more intimate than the one in the afternoon.

A Rainy Farewell BBQ Party

Farewell BBQ Party for Bobo and Locus
Does a rainy day barbecue with cold and chilling wind sound any good to you? Perhaps not quite, but come to think of it, the idea wasn't really that bad. There were a great bunch of friends, boozes, and hearty hot food that warmed our bodies from the inside out.

Richmond's Farewell Steamboat Party

Richmond's Farewell Hotpot Party

The farewell steamboat party for Richmond last night was really awesome. We had desserts together afterwards, then followed by some card games and Rummy til this early morning =p

The Sizzler: Re-Opened After Renovations

The Sizzler: After Renovation

Last Sunday evening, we paid our very first visit to the Sizzler Toowoomba after its $1.7 million complete make-over at the end of 2010. We reached there at around 7, and the restaurant was already so packed and crowded with people. We queued (with sweats and sore feet) for more than half an hour, from the entrance all the way down to the counter. And it really felt good when we can eventually sit down to enjoy a nice cold glass of lemon lime bitters.

Melodii and Richmond's Farewell Potluck Dinner

Melodii and Richmond's Farewell Potluck Dinner

We threw a farewell potluck dinner for both Melodii and Richmond last night, since the two will be leaving Australia very soon, somewhere next week or the week after I think. The meals, card games, and everything were enjoyable and rewarding too! Ahem~ you know what I mean ;D

San's Official Farewell Party

San's Official Farewell Party

The most anticipated fresh-out-of-the-oven photos of San's farewell party are ready to be served! Please grab a seat, put on a napkin, and start scrolling! LoL~ The first shot was taken with Cynthia, who has just finished curling her hair. The "Photo Queen" claims that her bathroom has the best lighting for photo-shooting, true enough xD

The Angel Cafe: San's Farewell Dinner

The Angel Cafe: Just Me

How's my bangs (my new hairstyle) looking, guys? You don't have to comment anything if you really don't want to... And if you're about to say something harsh / nasty to me, do consider keeping it to yourself as I believe no one would like to see a mad zombie with panda eyes (which could possibly be me) slaying innocent civilians on the street just to release her anger. You know I was only kidding right? Hehe, let's just move on to the farewell feast we had with San at the Angel Cafe last night!

The Spotted Cow: Kitt's Farewell Dinner

Kitt's Farewell Dinner: JUst Me

I'm back from M.I.A. finally...  but please, please don't get cranky with me for not updating my blog in the past 168 hours? =P I've been caught up with so many things lately, my casual and part-time jobs (still looking for a full-time job though if you got any to recommend), moving house, farewelling my friends and etc. In the end, you'll always find that there are just too many things, too little time... Tonight, we made up a supplementary farewell dinner for Kitt and her bf. My initial idea was to have it at the Toowoomba Sports Club but who knows, our friends didn't get to go in because no slippers are allowed =.=" Nevermind, we then changed the location to the Spotted Cow. Without realizing that the restaurant is now run by the new management, we picked a table, sat down, placed our orders, and from there, things started to get a little out of hand.

Hanaichi Japanese Restaurant: Farewell to Shaine

Hanaichi Japanese Restaurant: Farewell to Shaine

Shaine brought us here, to the Hanaichi Japanese Restaurant a few hours prior to her flight departure. To my amazement, they do serve absolutely fresh and tasty sushi which comes in a great variety.  Aww, I'm missing those food already *drooling with excitement*

Shaine's Farewell Dinner

Shaine's Farewell Dinner: Shaine

It's been the third day since Shaine left us for good. On the night before her flight back to Malaysia, we had a potluck farewell dinner together where everyone has brought their signature dishes along. My boi and I on the other hand, boiled a big pot of Roasted Chicken Soup with pickled mustard and dried chilli (which you can't see in the photo above or any of the photos below). Anyway, let's have a look at those good food and desserts prepared by the ladies that night!

Bon Voyage, My Dear Girls

surprise Farewell Party: Me and Cynthia

Bon voyage is a French phrase borrowed into English meaning, literally, "good journey", and usually translated as meaning "have a good trip". It was a line suggested by Kitt (if I'm not mistaken), and I just shamelessly stole the explanation from Wikipedia =x Anyway, it doesn't really matter as the main point of my post today is about farewelling our dearest girlfriends, Bev and Shaine. We secretly started our SFP "Surprise Farewell Party" mission on the 1st of October. In between, we did put in a lot of efforts and lied a lot too, for the sake of the surprise party (I do hope they were really surprised). Once again, thanks everyone for making it happen, also thanks my boi for fetching us here and there to buy the ingredients and everything needed for the farewell party.

Farewell Potluck

Home-Cook: Braised Chicken Wings

My boi and I have prepared three plates of Braised Chicken Wings tonight and invited some friends over to share the taste of our home-cook dishes. Still remember the first time (about half a year ago) we had potluck together, my boi and I also prepared the same dish and Bev happened to like it very very much. Without telling you the reason, I bet you can pretty much guess why I made this dish again, can't you? My dear friends, thank you all for showing up and for all the special dishes you've made tonight.

Farewell, My Dear Friends

Panda Delight: Simon's Farewell

Farewell dinner with Simon, Sunny and Amelia. It was actually my idea to get around and have a nice meal with them, since they'll be leaving for good in another three days.

Farewell Dinner at Batu Lanchang

Farewell Dinner @ Batu Lanchang

The night before I left for Australia, my aunt and her 5-year-old son threw me a farewell dinner at one of the seafood restaurants here in Batu Lanchang. My aunt's son, who is also my cousin, treats me like I was his girlfriend (although I'm 20 years older than him) cause he thinks that I look cute and pretty with long hair, LoL~ Occasionally, he would come to me and kisses me on my cheek and sometimes even on my lips. I'll never forget the first night I visited him, he told me in front of everyone that he got questions to ask me, but when I get my ears closer to him, he actually said, "You're so beautiful" and "I love you". Amazing right? Kids nowadays...

Buddies Farewell Dinner

Farewell Dinner @ Donna Court

Last night after the badminton, Mildred invited us over to her place to have dumplings dinner together. There were like 8 of us and we spent hours in the kitchen until almost 12 at the midnight. Besides the cooking, we also did a lot of shooting with Steven's camera (it was so nice to play with). Will post the rest of the photos once I get my hands on them.

Farewell Steamboat Lunch

Lucia's Farewell Steamboat

My German housemate, Lucia is going to Brisbane for her 3 weeks internship at University of Queensland (UQ) before she moves to another unit with her boyfriend at the beginning of new semester. Earlier on Friday, I had already talked over with Lucia about having a farewell meal together, but the actual date was only confirmed later last night.
