Koh Lipe (Maldives Of Thailand) in Satun Province: Koh Khai and Koh Tarutao

The word "lipe" literally means paper in the local Chao Ley (Sea Gypsies) language. An island by the name of Lipe makes "Koh Lipe" — the Paper Island. *clap clap* Sound knowledgeable, don't I? Nah, praise Google and Wikipeda for sharing almost everything that we need on the internet nowadays 😄

Lipe Island was BEAUTIFUL and that I truly acknowledge it as "Maldives of Thailand".

I was blessed with the opportunity to visit there last February, during the Valentine's weekend and was assuredly lucky as well to be able to witness the most happening and heart-warming side of the island.

Landed my feet on the bright sandy beach of Koh Khai (Egg Island) which named after its eggshell colored sand. The long, steamy and hot boat ride to Lipe was indeed devastating.

Backdropped with the natural stone arch of Koh Khai and turquoise seawater.

Before I go any further, let's backtrack the kilometres we drove from Penang to Pak Nam.

Much shorter distance than to Koh Ngai / Koh Hai.

Tarutao National Marine Park in the bargain.

Tourists are required to pay a one-time national park entrance fee. 200 THB for us foreigners.

Hello, Lipe Island! We are finally here!!!

At Mountain Resort overlooking the Sunrise Beach.

Wish this is the view I get to see every morning when I wake up, every night before I go to sleep.

Lipe Walking Street is just walking distance away. We came after settling down in our accommodation.

Our tour guide brought us here for dinner at the Nee Papaya Restaurant for the first night.
That's him hand-picking the seafood himself. Khob khun kha =)

Thai Styled BBQ seafood. Slurrpppp, those prawns were huge!!!

After dinner, we took a stroll along Pattaya Beach with the sweet companion of these little candles in sand made heart.

Foot massage. 300 THB for an hour seems like a standard price already.

I slept throughout the massage, so comfy.
