Bali in June: Ulun Danu Beratan Water Temple and Wild Animal Encounters

The Ulun Danu Beratan Water Temple is about 26.8 kilometres away from Lovina Beach, where our dolphin watching tour took place. After a not-so-appetizing breakfast, I reluctantly dragged my feet into the car and slept like a baby until the chilly air forced me awake. The climate was completely opposite to what we have experienced near the beach, very cold and refreshing.

Entrance fee: Rp 30,000 per person.

We happened to walk into a worship ceremony.

Unfortunately, this place has became so commercialized that there are water sports like speed boat, paddle boat, jet skiing, fishing and other activities going on in the lake.  

Buddha Stupa. We are allowed to sit on it and take picture, according to "Kicap".

View from halfway down the hill. We made a quick stop for some freshly picked strawberries. I've got a box for 16k rupiah if I'm not mistaken.

Besides strawberries, there was something else, something more interesting which caught my attention – wild animals that we don't get to see everyday! Donations are very much welcomed.

Here's another cute one munching on water spinach! It behaves so much like a human. The way it holds its hands and everything.

Beansprouts are its favorite too, apparently.

For lunch, we were brought to Bete Babi Guling to taste one of the must-try local food in Bali – "Babi Guling"! Loved it ♥

Chunks of pork meat, long beans, crunchy pork crackling and crispy roasted pork served on a bed of red rice. Yum! The chilli paste was killingly spicy, so do avoid it if you can't handle spiciness well. Oh yeah, the soup was lovely too, by the way! It tasted a bit like "Chai Boey" aka Chinese Mustard Vegetable Stew.
