Here are some random photos taken by my sis during Penang International Lantern Festival. For those who missed out d event, here's a chance for you to enjoy those beautiful lanterns.
As we grow older, our memories fade inevitably... I wish to keep them here, just between you and me... My beautiful diary...

When I was still a kid, my mommy used to prepare luncheon meat as garnishing for porridge for us. They also taste good with breads, veggie (lettuce / tomato / cucumber) & some gravy (tomato / chillies / mayonnaise sauce).
Can't seem to find any long beans here except those come in cans. I've tried those canned long beans once but they tasted awfully bad. By the way, fresh lady's fingers (British) aka okra (American) aka bhindi are not being sold here. They only import frozen ones from tropical countries like Thailand, Malaysia...
The Indians here like to eat this kinda fried eggs, only simply ingredients like chilli powder, salt, & turmeric powder (黄姜粉) needed to prepare this dish. Very simple & easy, rite? Hehe, maybe u can try it out when u get bored with normal fried eggs.

Wantan Soup and Deep Fried Wantan

Thanks my boi for showing me the way to wrap wantan *muackz* the wantan wrappers we bought from Chinatown are slightly thicker and bigger than usual.
All we need is to add in a small piece of chicken cube, some spring onions, siew pak choy (chopped into pieces), a few drops of sesame oil to boil with wantans.
After all the tiredness, we finally get to taste the 1st bite of our wantans.
We fried them for a bit longer just to make sure d ingredients inside are fully cook, this makes the skins look a bit darker instead of gold color.
Wanna know what ingredients have I put in? Just minced pork, minced carrots, minced mushroom (stir-fried), salt, pepper, & sesame oil, then only mix them all together.
Even though they're not as tasty as those selling in Penang, but at least we get to taste them here in Toowoomba. It was really a great experience preparing homemade wantans with my boi...

Another Day in Kitchen

My 1st attempt on cooking this BBQ mushroom chicken, previously I've tried it on minced pork but this time I used chicken instead. It tastes a bit sour and it has a strong black pepper flavor.
You might be thinking "What the hell is ABC soup?!" It's actually a very healthy type of soup with tomatoes, potatoes, onions, and carrot boiling with pork ribs.
This type of "Leng Chee Kang" is a bit weird 'cuz even barley seeds (薏米) are included in the packing as well. I've added a lot of ginkgo (白果又称银杏) , some red dates (红枣) , and white fungus (雪洱) for extra flavor.
These rice crackers are fabolous! Btw, I just prepared the ingredients to make wantan and wantan mee while watching Mr. & Ms. Smith on Australian local TV. Hehe, remember to come back to check out the result. Hopefully I'll be able to make good wantan for tomorrow's lunch...
