Tioman Island: Paya Beach Resort and Tomok Island

From Penang to Mersing, Johor, the journey was about 8 hours. Totally insane!!! I know. With the same amount of time, I could've flown myself to Sydney instead. But it was worth it, a fun family road trip I longed for in a long time.

We took off 11-ish that night, had a few food and toilet stops in between. Arrival time was one hour earlier than our ferry departure time, which is good. At least we got to have a quick breakfast fix in town before going on a slow and rocky ferry ride to Tioman Island.

Upon arrival, we checked-in into our 3D2N accommodation in Kampung Paya. Bathed and recharged ourselves with expensive meals at the resort's restaurant. We took a cat nap in the afternoon, then followed by a sequence of free activities as the day 1 tour package includes a buffet dinner only.

Sis got distracted by a group of Caucasian tourists. Lots of foreigners, surprisingly.

A troop of monkeys raided our place, and stole a coconut!

Silly monkey, I hope you don't get eaten by those giant lizards. Our room was the one right next to the stream with giant lizards wondering around.

At night, "yumcha" at a beach side restaurant. We had some yummy satay chicken sticks and cocktails. Since the first night, there was this very selfish and overbearing Caucasian family (parents and two teenage boys) who occupied the pool table for hours as if they own it.

We waited patiently for our turn but who knows, when the boys ran out of tokens, the father actually hindered us from using the pool table. Base on what rules and regulations? He then sent his son to get more tokens from the counter and continued to play like nothing happened.

Fine. Nevermind. We'll come back tomorrow, I thought.

On the second night, we came back extra early (around 8 pm) right after dinner to find that the same very-selfish-and-overbearing Caucasian family was there, AGAIN!!! So once again, we waited until they finally got sick of playing.

My bro approached the table later on, and guess what this time? The trying-to-be-fair-and-kind father stepped up to say that there was already another group of people waiting in the queue, two Indians who showed up after us, apparently.

Aaaarrrggghhh!!! I've never encountered such ridiculously unreasonable white people in my life!
