Dinner Gathering: Sichuan Steamboat

Dinner Gathering: Sichuan Steamboat

Once again, we had a dinner gathering at Bamboo's. Around 20 people were invited to have Sichuan Steamboat together on this cold and rainy winter night. The only difference is Olivia and Leon no longer here with us... Sharp at 8.30p.m., David came to pick us up before picking up his wife, Jojo. While Sherry and Nigel already there to meet up with others. We were taught to prepare a special kind of dipping sauce for Sichuan Steamboat.

Step 1: Pour some sesame oil (according to your own preference) into a bowl.

Step 2: Add in a tablespoon of Satay sauce (add more if you prefer).

Step 3: Break an egg into the mixture, then add in some soy sauce.

Step 4: Add some shallot and stir the mixture together using chopsticks / fork.

Wow, so many dried chillies boiling in the soup! Sichuan type of "spicy" (四川麻辣) is vary from the "spicy" we used to taste in Malaysia. It actually makes your tongue and lips numb! Both my boi and I dislike the feeling...

I'd rather go for the non-spicy one.

Some people think that it's be more "exciting" to stand while eating steamboat instead of sitting there. I didn't eat much just now as I can't take the smell of lamb and beef.

There are a variety of meat and internals, Kangkong (Water Spinach), Coriander and many other ingredients which have been pre-added into the pots.

Coming up next: A 2D1N (two days one night) trip to Gold Coast on this coming Sunday, June 8th. The detailed travel schedule throughout the trip has not been confirmed yet, but the apartment is already booked online. Wee, I can't wait to feel the soft and white sandy beach in Gold Coast!!!
